What went wrong for United in Rome .......???

The fact remains, though, that Alex Ferguson has never replaced Roy Keane or Ruud van Nistelrooy.
One a skipper in the true sense of the word, the other a focal-point centre-forward with an unerring propensity for putting the ball in the net.
What United missed more than anything in Rome’s Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night was a leader in the Keane mould.
Die Hard united fans must be asking some questions !!!!
- United's Central Midfield good enough to compete at highest level ?
- Are Park Ji Sung and Nani really good enough?
- And what of Anderson, who blows as cold as he does hot?
- And, surely, United cannot squander another £26million on Carlos Tevez?
- Yet the greatest conundrum of all is Dimitar Berbatov.
Perhaps they could call it “Looking for Eric, Roy and Robbo”.

Arsenal end the 2009 Premier League season with a 4-1 win over Stoke City. The Gunners end 4th and fail to win a trophy. It was a pretty disappointing season, the only plus was achieved with the Champions League semi-final. Stoke end 12th after a constant performance. It is a good result for their first year in the EPL

Aston Villa defeated Newcastle with 1-0 and sent the Magpies to The Championship. The Magpies relegated after a miserable season. Damian Duff scored an own goal to end it in “style”. Villa finish 6th after they seemed able to upset Arsenal for the 4th spot. The final part of the season was disastrous though.
Video Highlights: Hull City 0 - 1 Manchester United

Toons Relegated !!!! fans reaction
Newcastle United's 16-year stay in the Premier League ended with a 1-0 defeat away to Aston Villa.
At St James' Park the fans were defiant in defeat but the chants failed to mask the bitter disappointment.
They had gathered at Newcastle's stadium to watch the away match on big screen TVs inside Shearer's - the bar named after their manager and potential hero.
Alan Shearer had joined them with only eight games left in the season.
Did they deserve to go down ? in my openion YES ! hell yes, they were poor through out the season, and even at Survival Sunday they just needed to get a draw, needed a just a goal to ensure stay in Premeir league which they could'n get in the end......
I believe they will bounce straight back to premeirship, if Shearer stays. and ofcource some of the players needs to show some loyalty.....GOOD BYE GIORDIES

Video Highlights: Nancy 1 - 2 Olympique Marseille
OM won tonight 2-1 in Nancy and need a home win against Rennes next weekend and hope for Bordeaux to lose away, against Caen. This is the scenery that could make OM Ligue 1 champions. Enjoy tonight’s goals and see you next week!
Video Highlights: Bordeaux 1 - 0 Monaco
Bordeaux have defended their lead in the Ligue 1 but are still not sure of winning the title. They now lead with 77 points followed by Marseille with 74. Chamakh scored the only goal of the night in a rather poor game for the hosts. OM keep up the pace with an away win in Nancy and everything is left to play for in the last round.
Video Highlights: Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Stuttgart
Bayern failed to defend their Bundesliga title and couldn’t match Wolfsburg today. They won 2-1 against Suttgart in Munchen but it was not enough because the leaders managed a 5-1 home win and grabbed the title. Watch the highlights now
Video Highlights: Wolfsburg 5 - 1 Werder Bremen
Wolfsburg managed to win the Bundesliga title after another impressive performance. They blasted Werder Bremen with 5-1 and defended their top spot against Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg made things clear by the 26th minute. They where already 3-0 ahead and smashed Bayern’s title hopes. Watch the extended highlights
Video Highlights: Barcelona 0 - 1 Osasuna
Barcelona lost again in the La Liga. The Catalans where defeated by Osasuna 0-1 at the Camp Nou. It’s obvious that the Catalans are with their minds in Rome already but the last 3 La Liga rounds offered them a single point and this can spoil the impression of a near perfect season. Osasuna might have rescued themselves from relegation after this result

Manchester United announce full-strength squad to take on Hull
Full-strength reserve squad, that is!
After all the posturing, legal threats, promises, denials etc., Manchester United have announced their squad to face Hull City on Sunday. And it reads like a who’s who of reserve team football!
Other than that the most notable names in the squad are young striker Federico Macheda and everybody’s favourite anti-dehydration advert Danny Drinkwater. And let us not forget Ritchie De Laet who stirred up a bit of controversy by announcing he was making his debut earlier this week! Full squad after the jump.
These dudes might miss the UCL final !!

Turns out Andres Iniesta and Thierry Henry are also injury doubts. I've seen reports that they will play and some that say they won't.

Tevez to Liverpool ???
When 'Tevez to join Liverpool for £50 million' is roared out by The Sun, the tendency to laugh cynically with an air of pompous logicality suddenly becomes overwhelming.
More on that Here
They are actually BIDDING £26m, the rest would be his wages over the term of the contract.£50m just sounds better. More BS journalism, and they claim they dont make up sensationalist headlines

I saw this over the Daily Mail. Take a look and see if you see any glaring omissions:

Shakhtar Donetsk wins Last ever Uefa Cup

Shakhtar Donetsk have become the last ever winners of the UEFA Cup, after beating German side Werder Bremen 2-1 after extra time.
SHAKHTAR Donetsk midfielder Jadson scored in extra time on Wednesday to clinch the Uefa Cup with a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen.
The teams had drawn 1-1 through regular time at Istanbul's Sukru Saracoglu Stadium before Jadson, one of five Brazilian players in Shakhtar's lineup, hit a shot from about 12 meters in the 97th minute.
Diego Milito & Thiago Motta Join Inter
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has announced that Inter have signed star duo Diego Milito and Thiago Motta, in exchange for cash plus Robert Acquafresca.
"I met [Inter] President Massimo Moratti for breakfast, and we have reached an agreement,
" Preziosi revealed while a guest on the programme 'We are Genoa' on TeleNord."It is official. It was a painful decision, and we thank the players for everything they have given this year.
Seriously, I don't see how Inter will win the Champions League with these kinds of average signings.

Platini supporting barca in Rome Final !!!!
In statements unlikely to go down well with Manchester United fans, the UEFA president has lavished praise upon the Blaugrana.
"Barcelona represents my philosophy, not just in their style of play, but how they form their footballers.
"I believe players should be protected until they are 18, more for moral reasons than economic ones."
"It seduces me.
"Finally, Platini talked about some of Barca's star players: "Xavi is very good, the best player of EURO 2008, and so is Iniesta."Even players like Eto'o, Henry or Keita have all adapted brilliantly to their system."
we know platini's hate 4 english football clubs.i know platini is happy that chealsea lost 2 barca.....and he wants a Non-english Champion.
Canna back with Juve !!!

The Italian international has gone back to Juventus after his three year stint with Real Madrid. He will join them in July once his deal with the Spanish side expires
A statement on the club's official website reads:
Talking to Radio Marca, Cannavaro says he will
"Boluda told me that he could not do anything, that I would have to wait until after the elections...What hurts the most is the fact we have not been able to win the tenth [Champions League]," he said.

Inter’s Tribute To Adriano
How nice of Julio César to remember his friend, Adriano, during such a glorious occasion! We almost feel bad for making fun of the Fallen Striker.
As soon as the Inter-Siena match ended yesterday (a nice 3-0 scoreline in favour of the Serie A champs) the players did a victory parade around the San Siro. Mancini and Balotelli also wore “Adriano” shirts, which they must’ve taken from the storeroom when no one was looking. And you know Uncle Fester Galliani tried to gatecrash the event but was promptly stopped at the door.
Ranieri got the boot !!!!
Juventus Sack Claudio Ranieri, Ciro Ferrara Takes Over
The club have officially confirmed that they have ousted Claudio Ranieri and replaced him with Ciro Ferarra.
A statement on their official website reads:
"Ciro Ferrara is the new Juventus coach. Juventus would like to communicate that they have sacked Claudio Ranieri."From today, the first team will be handed over, and guided by Ciro Ferrara. Juventus would like to thank Claudio Ranieri for the work he has done in these two years."We would like to wish new coach Ciro Ferrara well for immediate success."
finally, juve have a new coach to replace terrible ranieri. ranieri style of coach doesn't suit juventus squad....and judging from Juventus fans reactions, it came as no surprice.....
Valencia heading to Bernabeu !!!

Antonio Valencia could be headed for Real Madrid, unless Manchester United match their bid
What makes this player so great is his speed and his work ethic, What both clubs see is potential of becoming something great when has Ferguson been wrong about a player he likes ???
and yes I have seen him play for Wigan and for his countary, and beleive me he is a real handful to any defence....

Forget this football business, I think he’s found his true calling as a hard-hitting, tough-questioning journalist. Now maybe he’ retire and someone other than Manchester United will win the league next year.
Damn, it makes him look less hateful. How can be posible?

Weekly Rumour Mill
In his neverending quest to change the official language of Liverpool to Spanish, Rafa is lusting over David Silva (possible) and Diego Forlan (less possible).
- According to Zlatan’s agent, Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are in constant contact because “They are the only teams capable of taking someone like Zlatan“. Well then, that settles that. Stop holding your breath Numancia fans.
- And to replace Zlatan, the Inter suits would like to sign Diego Milito because he has an Argentine passport. (That’s all really.)
- Blackburn want Bojan on loan next season. You know…even a season-long loan is a bit much for that talent gap between player and team.
- Ricardo Quaresma has been such a spectacular flop at both Inter and Chelsea this year that he may stepover all the way back to Portugal where he will complete the Portuguese Big Three trifecta by playing for Benfica after his stints with Sporting and Porto. In the process adding to the most impressively inexplicable CV for a player still 25: Sporting, Barcelona, Porto, Inter, Chelsea.
- Kevin Kuranyi, he of the most confusing passport in European football, is being eyed girlishly by Martin Jol over at Hamburg, a move which would make HSV fans happy and Schalke fans happier.
Well thats all for today, Im bit tired and need some sleep before i head to the football pitch, hopefully
FC United fans told: ‘Name the price for your season ticket’
Non-league outfit take a leaf out of Radiohead’s book
FC United have come up with a novel way of ensuring they don’t lose fans during the current recession – they’ve asked them to decide their own season ticket price. This is obviously good news for anyone who was planning to sell their soul to pay for their season ticket. The Red Rebels have taken the idea from rock band Radiohead, who recently asked fans to pay what they felt was right to download their latest album.

Man Utd stars who fell out with Fergie, Who's next Ronaldo ?
After C-Ron’s strop, we look at five Man Yoo stars who have already walked the tight-rope of dissing SAF
1. David Beckham
There once close relationship began to unravel as Becks immersed himself increasingly in a celebrity lifestyle. He was on the receiving end of the infamous flying boot incident after united lost a FA cup game against Arsenal.
2. Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Again a once strong relationship, forged as Ferguson patiently waited for Van Nistelrooy to recover from the knee injury which delayed his transfer to Old Trafford, which went sour. Rumours of a rift started when the Dutchman was benched for six consecutive league games in 2006.
He returned to the starting line-up but when he was dropped again before United’s final game of the season against Charlton, he left the stadium before kick-off. Rumours suggested this was due to a fall-out with Fergie’s new hot young thing, Cristiano Ronaldo.
3. Jaap Stam
Once the defensive rock upon which the United team was built, after some rather unflattering comments about Ferguson and United in his autobiography the Dutchman soon found out his relationship with the boss was not so rock-steady.
4. Paul Ince
The Ince-Ferguson relationship when it worked was built on mutual respect rather than any affection, and when the respect ebbed away it got really nasty. Fergie called his former star midfielder a “bottler” and a “big time Charlie”, and flogged him to Inter Milan.
5. Roy Keane
Given Ferguson’s hairdryer and Keane’s short fuse, it is perhaps surprising that this pair remained so close for as long as they did. It all blew up at the end of 2005. Keane decided to turn grumpy elder statesman of the United team and criticised the club’s pre-season training camp, the application of his team-mates and Fergie’s management methods. His contract was soon cancelled by mutual consent and he headed to Celtic.

Impossible is Nothing - Incredible goal
Pedrao’s goal really confirms a famous advertising slogan “Impossible is nothing”. The Brazilian striker scored an impossible goal. His narrow angle shot hit the crossbar and the curl made it land in the back of the net after the rebound with the pitch. Pedrao couldn’t believe it and neither can we! Do you believe it?
United and Madrid 'put pen to paper' on £70m Ronaldo transfer
The Portuguese ace could be heading to the Bernabeu this summer if the Spanish club invoke a clause in their deal with Manchester United
It is claimed that the clubs have agreed a £71.5million fee for the 24-year-old, which is subject to secrecy clauses and Madrid's new president taking up the option.
The total value of the deal would be in excess of 100m euros (£89m) when taking into account a big cut for Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes. The former Sporting Lisbon player could expect to pick up £12.5m a year - a whopping £240,000 a week.
More on that here
After his Derby day antiques I was sure these reports will become alive again and guess what its happening.......
I would say, better sell him coz the player thinks he is bigger than Man Utd,and he is too big headed and a bad exemplary to the upcoming stars.
And what is more ridicilous, with that price madrid could buy ribery, maicon, chiellini and benzema. so why Madrid wanna buy him.....we'll never know ????
Diego Has Signed For Juventus, Agent claims
Juventus have reportedly completed the signing of Werder Bremen's star player Diego, according to Giacomo Petralito, who is a representative of the Brazilian.
"Juventus is a company that is quoted on the stock exchange and until May 31 they cannot announce any transfer," he continued.
He's a good player, i repeat a good player not a top top player and he will never be as good as Nedved who is supposed to be replacing....but still a good signing for Juventus if news is true, coz these agents go crazy sometimes just to get some attention.

The player's legal team are trying to rescind his Los Angeles Galaxy deal, according to reports.
So what's the next step? Avoid coming back to America entirely, specifically after the Serie A season ends.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the English international is so in love with Calcio that he would like to take part in the Rossoneri's pre-season and start the next campaign in a Milan jersey. Adriano Officially A Flamengo Player
Adriano was officially unveiled by Flamengo yesterday and a party - likened to a 4-year-old’s birthday bash - was thrown to welcome him back. He also joins the likes of Fred and Ronaldo in returning to the Brazilian league.
“I always liked to laugh, to play, for fun. That was not happening in Italy. And as soon as I returned to Brazil, it did not take long for me to go back to being happy,” he said at the press conference.
damn dude, so all those stories of depression and retirement were fake or what.....we'll never understand !!!!!

A Catch up in the Change Rooms
and now death threats !!!
Norwegian official Tom Henning Ovrebo has been smuggled out of England after fears for his safety
According to various reports in the British press, the referee from the Champions League semi-final second leg between Chelsea and Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday has been smuggled out of England after receiving death threats.
Thats just crazy, yeah he had a bad game some poor decisions but thats all part of the game, but chelsea fans ....!!!
I actually didn't think he was that bad. Drogba always dives when he loses the ball and the hand balls were difficult to call whether they were intentional, and if Chelsea really wanted to win, why not next time score some goals?
Drogba apologizes !!!!
The Ivorian has spoken out in remorse after berating the referee and swearing live on television at Stamford Bridge last night
His statement reads:
"I was very upset at what happened during the game, but having seen the pictures on TV I accept that I overreacted.
"I also fully accept that the language I used did not set a good example for those watching at home, especially children. I regret that in the heat of the moment I let out my incredible frustration and disappointment in this way, and for that I apologise."
but you know he doesn't mean it, he´s just been told by Chelsea Officials to fix this NOW. this guy thinks he´s way better than he is.... His behavior was disgrace to the spirit of the game, he should get a 5-6 game ban at least...

was thrilled to see Becks obviously loving the match. Looks like his heart is still very much in Manchester.
