Pele and Maradona, Argubaly two greates players to have graced the game of football who never see eye to eye.

The lead-up to the crucial World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil has been intense, and both sets of teams have exchanged opinions over the past few weeks.

After recent declarations made by Maradona, which included saying things like "I was a better player than Pele was" and "Argentina have better players than Brazil"

this is what Pele had to say about that :

"I'm confident in Brazil, most of all against teams who we have always been superior to, like Argentina," said Pele.

"Beating great rivals like Argentina gives you a different feeling," he admitted.

"But we already know who Maradona is...what he says isn't worth taking into consideration."

This so-called feud between the two really only exists on sports tabloids. Both were the greatest players of their eras. There is no comparison.

Maradona had the best left foot in football history while Pele was more of an all around player. I'd call the on pitch comparison a draw while off pitch...well we all know who wins that contest.
