Chelsea came back from japan empty handed as they lost the final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2012 against Brazilian side Corinthians in what was a poor performence from the Current European Champions. Chelsea were the favorites to win the cup but they came out short with a 1-0 loss which will put Rafa Benitez under more pressure to perform in the league. Realisticly speaking and looking at the stats and the form of the team they wont be able to with stand in the title challenge with manchester clubs but they do have other cups to play for and finishing 3rd in the league wont be that bad after a poor start to the season.

Chelsea will make their comeback to English Football with League cup match against Leeds United and will be looking to make a swift return to the winning ways in the Cup, and this Capital One Cup is somthing they should really put focus on as they are now the favourites to win this cup as all the big guns are out and looking at the other teams Chelsea should not have any problems winning this one.

Chelsea will start with Fernando Torres who's 3 match scoring stream ended in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, although he did have some great chances to score, but he will be eager to be back on the winning team and goals again. In the last 4 matches including the final he has score 5 goals and it looks as though he is getting his confidence and finishing touch back with the way he is playing at the moment.

Chelsea defeated Manchester United in the previous round to make it to the quarter finals of the League Cup, they defeated United with a 5-4 win and will be looking to win this match against Leeds United and make it to the Semifinals. They are already out of the Champions League but have Europa League, League Title and FA Cup to play for and there is still enough competitions to keep them motivated and go on and end the season on a high.
