Liverpool were victorious 1-0 in the earlier game in the season when Liverpool defender Daniel Agger managed to head home the winner and in that game Southampton were kind of lucky at Anfield that they only lost 1-0, Liverpool dominated that game.
Liverpool are coming into this match on the back of a great run of form and they will be looking to get another win under their belt when they take on Southampton in the league on Saturday.
Southampton have won 3 of their last 4 games against Liverpool and they always cause problems for the Mersyside team. Southampton are not in great form at the moment they are struggling on and off the field.
