Swine flu affecting football
Video: John O'Shea's goal
So much great talent on the pitch and who scores? its O'shea, but dont be surprised....he has a nack of scoring against gunners.....i remember him scoring a peach of a goal against arsenal in 4-2 win at highbury some years ago......
Rooney not happy with his performance
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was not happy with his personal performance against Arsenal in the Champions League, as he felt he should have offered more in the way of positive contributions.
I don't think it was one of my best games," he told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously I did a job for the team but going forward I felt I didn't really offer too much so hopefully I can improve on that next week."
More on that [GOAL]
Honestly, with that mindset and that ability, i'd wish to see him play more like a Gerrard role in MU. To me, that is his best position, suitable for his characteristic, toughness and athleticism. He can be a complete player if he does play in that position
Lionel Messi the Wizard's secrets are revealed
So that was the trick, not a natural talent, is he ?

Lionel Messi Is Better Than Kaka, But Maldini Is Best, says Fergie

Red Devils' boss thinks that the Argentine is more exciting and a veteran defender is even better...
"When I think of the current generation, Lionel Messi is top-level,' Ferguson told The Independent.
"And, although he has never taken my breath away, Kaka has impressed, Zinedine Zidane was brilliant but without a doubt, Paolo Maldini has been my favourite."
More on that Here
I Wonder what man city will make of this?! If man utd are serious with kaka... think there will be a tug-of-war between the 2 manchester clubs?! (i'd say kaka would rather go to united)
Andrey Arshavin makes Arsenal Players Jealous : says agent
The diminutive Arshavin's team-mates are envious of his burgeoning popularity, his agent has asserted today.
"To tell the truth the players of Arsenal are not easy to deal with. The squad consists almost entirely of foreigners. The French diaspora rules there.''
"Also there are guys - like [Robin] van Persie and [Cesc] Fabregas - who are rather jealous about Andrey's fast growing popularity in England." newspaper Metro reports his agent
More on that [Goal]
I would say this agent should only open his mouth when Andrey needs him to talk. Firstly Andrey either plays on the left or in the centre of midfield for his former club and for Russia , so what is his agent talking about?
Just another agent being stupid !!!!
Adebayor compares Milan to Beyonce
The Togo international striker has compared the Rossoneri's interest to being told that Beyonce is an admirer
"I am happy playing for this club and to be honest I am happy AC Milan, one of the legendary clubs in the world, were looking at me," Adebayor told ESPN.
"For me that must be something special. It is like a boy being told Beyonce is looking for them."
Wow, adebayor got taste, one have to admit,
anyway he is so desperate to leave Arsenal side for Milan or Barca, i dont like that, he is not loyal. Wants to be payed like God?. Ade is great striker, but he likes to flert, thats not good for team.
UCL Predictions : Man Utd vs Arsenal
Manchester United vs Arsenal
These two great domestic rivals never meet in Europe before, its very first United-Arsenal UCL tie, and unlike last night's game this game will be open and fluent i'm sure about that. I see loads of goals in this game.
Predictions:
Manchester United at home, regardless who ever they play against will be favorites, but if any team can shock them it has to be arsenal,Infect they did beat them at OT in 2006-2007 season with a solitary goal from Adebayor. So im going for a entertaining and open game, both teams scoring and arsnal going home with a away goal, but i do see United winning.
Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal
Player to watch:
Manchester United: Ronaldo who else ? coming up againt a young gunner named gibbs, even if Ronaldo is in his tiny little kind of form he gonna test Gibbs credentials.
Arsenal: Cesc Febragas and Theo Wallcot will be they personals in Arsenal colours, if they have any chance of getting a positive result.

Chelsea frustrated Barcelona at Camp Nou

For the second season running Barcelona were frustrated by English opposition in the UCL semi-finals as a determined defensive effort from Chelsea earned a goalless draw in Catalonia.
Barcelona 0-0 Chelsea
It was the first stiff test faced by so called unstoppable Barca, but Chelsea put on a determined performance to hold Barca at bay.
Barcelona created enough chances or should we say half chances to score at least a goal, but some good work from Cech and a good performance by back four denied Barca, infect best chance fell to Drogba when he was put through by Marques back pass.I have to say that even though chelsea put on a great defensive display but "Chelsea are not through yet". Barcelona can go to stamford bridge and capable of scoring a goal or two.
Anyway, unfortunately I saw this boring game and all my hopes of a spectacular game were dashed, lets hope second leg can provide some magical footabll by both teams.
This tie is very much still alive!

Match-Fixing Alive & Well and Todays featured Links
The betting industry has seen some marked spikes in betting. So marked a few big bookmakers were forced to suspend betting this weekend in lesser UK leagues after suspicious patterns arose.
The Blue Conference Premier League match between Grays and Forest Green Rovers - a team which made different headlines during the FA Cup 3rd Round - had betting called after an inordinate amount of wagers asking for Grays to go into the half losing but end the game victorious - a situation which offers incredibly good odds (22-1 in this case). Were the worries of Blue Square & William Hill substantiated?
Halftime: Forest Green 1-0
Fulltime: Grays 2-1
I’d say so. It may just be an incredible coincidence but such volume on a specific bet which comes to fruition is awfully suspicious. To the point neither of the bookies will be paying out any winnings on the match. More on that at theoffside

UEFA Champions League (Quarter Finals) Predictions

Barcelona vs Chelsea
These two European giants have a recent history of rivalry, these games are proved to be fiesty and intense battles.
The subject of how to stop Messi has dominated the pre-match build-up following the suspension of England left-back Ashley Cole, and it will be Bosingwa marking Messi, poor Bosingwa gonna be a ''escape goat'' ,he's gonna have a longday.
Predictions:
Since Barcelona are playing at home, they will have the majority of the possession and with front three in kind of form chelsea back four are bound to have nightmare game, specially because the goals they conceded recently. On the other hand Drogba is back among the goals, if he is on song he can single handedly destroy Barcelona.
So i'm going with a 2-1 win for the home team, and its not a bad result for chelsea, is it ?
Barcelona 2-1 Chelsea
Player to watch:
Barcelona: Messi will be a constant thorn in Chelsea's neck, and with 34 goals already this season you can bet your head on him scoring again tonight.
Chelsea: If Chelsea are to win at camp nou, whole team have to play out of their skin, but the most important player has to be Drogba to get a away goal or two.

Giggsy for Knighthood

Giggs epitomises everything good about football and Manchester United. A legend already.
By the way, the reactions (from Sir Alex and the fans) to his wonder goal against Arsenal are a joy to watch, even though 10 years have passed!

Klinsmann fired, its official
Jurgen Klinsmann has been removed from his position as Bayern Munich coach with immediate effect.
Although I wanted him to stay, It was a disicion that had to be taken. The players are not on terms with the Kilnsi. Everything was coming down and he wasted far to many chances to be 1st. Bayern need a new face. Just like when Hetzfield failled to do anything.
Arsene Wenger is tipped to take over at Bayern but im dead sure he wont leave Arsenal but some other big names are availabe likes of Scolari, Schustar, Rajikaard and Sven. Bayern need to get someone with proven experience, Frank Rajikaard will be perfect in my openion.
Video Highlights: AC Milan 3-0 Palermo
Kaka scored two goals in the game and made the another, special performence by former World Player of the year, and have to mention PIPPO, who scored yet another goal....he is unstoppable at this moment of time and don't forget he is over 35...
Elsewhere, Inter Milan lost to Napoli. Mourinho will be pretty pissed if they don’t win next week. Seven points, five games left to play! It’s heating up in Italy.
El Fenómeno’s Double

scored a double for Corinthians in yesterday’s 3-1 victory over Santos - the first leg of the Paulista Championship finals.
Ronaldo opened the scoring from the edge of the Santos area after latching on to a long-kick from Chicao, taking his tally to eight goals in 10 games. “To be king for a day at the home of the king is excellent,” he said after the game.
Of course, “the other king” in this instance was Pele, who was present and visibly frustrated by the outcome of the match. Well, at least he didn’t talk about what he would’ve done if he were in front of goal. “The ball landed at the feet of a player who doesn’t miss,” Pele said. “Ronaldo makes the difference. The second goal was worthy of the World Cup.”Ronaldo's Brace !!!!

Manchester United's 35-year-old veteran Ryan Giggs has been turning back the clock throughout the season with some scintillating performances and his efforts have been duly recognised by his peers as he was crowned the PFA Player of the Year.
More on that here
As a United fan in previous two seasons I use to moan the inclusion of giggs in Fergies's first eleven, I thought he has passed it but boy-o-boy how he turned that around this season, he is like a new signing for United.....
but having said that, he deserved that award more than Vidic ? im not sure about that......
Video Highlights: Savilla 2-4 Real Madrid
Savilla 2-4 Real Madrid
Not for the first time, Madrid had to rally from behind to snatch a priceless win as they breathed new life into their title hopes. What can we say about this team, without many of their star players they were suppose to struggle but they are right behind Barca's back(who had a record breaking season) Raul scored 3 priceless goals as Madrid had to comeback from a goal down and Marcelo put the ice-ing on the cake in stoppage time.
All set for a spectacular EL-CLASSICO

Villa defender Laursen could be forced to retire

Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen could be forced to retire from professional footballer after latest checks on his knee injury were not encouraging.
O'Neill said: "The news on him is not great. Martin is deliberating on what to do. We were hoping that he could recover but he is having a tough time. But he will make the decision and, whatever decision he comes to, I will respect with the utmost regard.
"He has already seen a specialist and now has to make up his mind.",
More on that [ESPN]
Oh what a tragedy it would be, he is one of the best defender in the Epl and he also score goals from set pieces, great header of the ball.....his injury is same as Van Basten i just hope his carear don't end like him.....more importantly Aston Villa need him badly at this moment of time....
Tevez admits he's likely to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has moved closer to a summer exit from the club after admitting he needs to be playing regular first team football and be selected for the big games.
Speaking to Radio Del Plata, Tevez said: "I have many offers, not only from Spain: I need to see which club I can go to and what can be done. We must not only consider the money, I also have to ensure my family feel comfortable, especially my daughter. So I have a lot to think about.''
''Even if you score three or four goals, you do not play in another game. There are many very good players but I need to play."
More on that here[ESPN]
Well I can understand his frustration but truth is he's not the same player he was last season, this year he played 24 times in the league and scored only 3 goals, ...but he still scored some crucial goals in cup games like goal against Porto and 4 goals in Carling cup tie.......Having said that one cant question his commitment to team......
So i would say stay another year because Berbatove will be on his way come the end of year....
Hang on there Tevez!!!!!!

Expect More From Me At Manchester United, Rooney
The powerful striker insists that his best is yet to come
"There is still a lot more to come from me," Rooney told The Manchester Evening News.
"I would love to score more goals consistently each year. I am still working on that and hopefully I can improve."
"I have played in a few different positions over the last few weeks," he went on.
"You never really see any of the top players running back and helping out like that. For me it is about the team. I have no problem with that".
read his full interview here [GOAL]
This guy is a genuine team player, like Roma's coach said of all players he would love to have Rooney in his squad just because his team ethics....he might not be the best around in terms of skill and technique but he's surely up there in terms of commitment.....yeah you do get some ''clapping in front of refs'' and rash tackle from him but that's the way he play.....and in my opinion this season he's been the most crucial player for Man Utd.....
Man Utd will lose all remaining trophies says Torres

The Spanish hitman believes the FA Cup exit will be the first of three painful tournament losses for Manchester United during the business end of the season.
